Due diligence is the review of a renewable project before acquisition or financing, in which the buyer or lender verifies that the seller's documents and assumptions are true and complete.

Three areas

• legal: land title, zoning plan or decision, environmental decision, grid connection, building permit, project company and its contracts,
• technical: design, energy yield, grid access, ground conditions,
• financial: financial model, costs, revenues, tax.
