RTB (ready-to-build)

RTB (ready-to-build) is the stage at which a renewable energy project can start construction without further administrative approvals. Land is secured, a grid connection agreement with the network operator is signed and the building permit is final.

What RTB usually means in Poland

• land rights (ownership or a lease covering the operating period),
• compliance with the local zoning plan or a zoning decision,
• an environmental decision where required,
• grid connection conditions and a signed connection agreement,
• a final building permit.

Why RTB matters in a transaction

At RTB most development risk (grid refusal, missing permits) is gone, so investors pay more for RTB projects than for earlier-stage ones. The buyer verifies every document in due diligence.
